Privacy Policy

Porter is a tool that imports products, variants and metafields into Shopify from a Google Sheet. This policy explains what data Porter accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short because Porter is built to touch as little of your data as possible.

To run an import, Porter accesses:

• Google Sheets content. When you provide a shared sheet link, Porter reads the rows and column headers on the tabs it imports (typically a Products and/or Metafields tab) to build your catalog.
• Shopify store data. Through the Shopify Admin API, Porter creates and updates products, variants and metafields in the store you connect, and reads existing products to upsert by handle without creating duplicates.
• Import job data. Porter records the status of each import, including per-row results and error messages, so you can review and export the manifest.

Data is used solely to perform the imports you request and to show you the results. Porter does not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the service providers needed to operate the product (such as Google and Shopify, which you authorize directly).

Porter does not need to keep a copy of your catalog. Sheet content is read at import time and is not stored beyond what is required to run the job and produce its manifest. Import manifests and error reports are retained so you can revisit them, and can be deleted on request. When you disconnect your store, the associated access is revoked.

Access tokens for Google and Shopify are stored securely and used only to carry out your imports. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, though no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure.

You can revoke Porter's access to Google Sheets or Shopify at any time from the respective provider's settings. You may also request deletion of your import history by contacting us.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
